GFMAM Meeting and MARCON 2024 Conference
Knoxville, TN, USA – March 2nd – 7th, 2024
As the EFNMS (European Federation of National Maintenance Societies) member, I had a chance to participate in the GFMAM (Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management) meeting. The members of GFMAM come from various regions worldwide, as illustrated below:

The meeting was an invaluable opportunity for gaining new insights into the latest Asset Management practices worldwide and connect with colleagues face-to-face. Some important milestones have been reached on the revision of the GFMAM AM Landscape, production of a document on Digital Transformation in Maintenance and Asset Management and the results of the GFMAM survey on the status of asset management across the world. Information from these projects is expected to be published over the next 6 months.

The GFMAM meeting in Knoxville USA was hosted by the SMRP (Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals, USA) and we also took part in the Reliability and Maintainability Center – University of Tennessee MARCON 2024 conference.

While there, the opportunity was seized for a meeting between Dave Daines and John Hardwick from the WPiAM (World Partners in Asset Management) and Janez Tomažin and myself from the EFNMS, focusing on crucial aspects of potential membership. The aim of this discussion was to advance the field of asset management for the benefit of all EFNMS members, as well as their contribution to the growth and development of the subject matter.
